March of the DB Cajuns
Down yonder in LoUiSiAna, way down south near the Gulf of Mexico, there lives a group of Cajun folks who are known to be deafblind. These folks are many and they sure are a family type group. They love to get together and have fun and talk all day and night! They should be known as the Yakiety-Yak Gang! These folks are always having their children take part in the togetherness! That is what a family oriented group is all about.
But one day one of the leaders of this group of deafblind folks wanted to get a group of folks together to do something different. He wanted to do a walk-a-thon. So Mr. Rolowski made some TTY calls, Video Phone calls, and sent out some emails asking his fellow deafblind Cajuns to help make plans for such a walk-a-thon.
The walk was to begin the last day of March. It was a one day event and folks were excited about it. On the day of the walk, Mother Nature had different plans as she made it rain and rain and rain! But the walk-a-thon committee would not change their plans nor cancel the event. They had told everyone who wanted to participate to come prepared for rain or shine.
Despite the rain, the group of folks was still a lot of people and they were really prepared for the elements! There were raincoats, umbrellas, gloshes, and all the other necessary rain wear. Even the children were all ready for the rain and since it was a warm day some people had on bathing suits!
Well, folks walked and walked some more until they came to the finish line of the walk-a-thon. However, a group led by Mr. Rolowski wanted to keep walking so they kept on walking and walked into the next town and the next. They even walked into the next day!
So you see, the folks led by Mr. Rolowski walked out of March and into April. But how on earth did these folks keep on walking? Easy, they sat on the backs of friendly alligators who did all the walking for them.
Ha! Ha! Happy April Fool's Day all!!
