This issue (January) of the DEAF BAYOU e-news dedicates to John Lee Clark, a representative of Hawk Relay Service sponsoring Deaf-Blind Relay Servoce that may be launched soon.   At the Affiliated Blind of Louisiana Daigle Hall where Louisiana Acadiana Deaf-Blind Citizens (LADBC) hosted Christmas party to invite a guest presentation, Mr. John giving his speech explaining how DBRS works. Proposal by Hawk Relay is pushing Federal Communication Commission (FCC) to be passed so that the telecommunication needs of people with dual vision and hearing loss (deaf-blind) are addressed.  LADBC is under consideration being “host” as Communicate Facilator (CF) agency.  If happens, it could be called “DBRS/LADBC”…Stay tuned!  Read his amazing summary experiencing his visit Louisiana deaf-blind people; click on: John’s Summary

AADB Lifetime Member:  CEO/Editor Dan is honored as ‘Lifetime Member by the American Association of the Deaf-Blind (AADB) and received a certificate from Art Roehrig, AADB President for showing his tremendous support to AADB by helping to further AADB’s mission to ensure deaf-blind individuals achieve their maximum potential through increased independence, productivity, and integration into the community, according to Art’s writing documented letter.
