My Louisiana E-mail

My Louisiana

Down in the everglades,

Bayous and cooling shades,

Flowers and sweetest maids,

All so Divine!

Birds sing their sweetest songs,

That’s where my heart belongs,

For dear old Dixie land,

My heart does pine:

My Louisiana, dear Louisiana

down where the roses forever bloom

And in the springtime, the glorious Maytime,

I’m going back to Louisiana, that’s my home, sweet home!

Land where the mellow moon

Shines on the old lagoon,

Where sweet magnolias bloom,

and dreams come true.

Rice fields and sugar cane,

Song birds and golden grain,

Nature’s own grand domain,

Where skies are blue:

My Louisiana, dear Louisiana

down where the roses forever bloom

And in the springtime, the glorious Maytime,

I’m going back to Louisiana, that’s my home, sweet home!
