June: What we see depends mainly on what we look for. Date(s) to Remember: • Editor’s 47th Birthday: June 10th • Flag Day: June 14th • Father’s Day: June 17th This issue (June) of the DEAF BAYOU e-news dedicates to Support Service Provider volunteers who give up their own time to assist deaf-blind citizens to safety place(s) WITHOUT getting paid…As Leader of the Deaf-Blind on the Move, Editor Dan is going to speak out for 400 – 1,000 long-suffering deaf-blind citizens at the Louisiana Commission for the Deaf (LCD) during the Deaf-Blind Rally on Friday, June 1st to fight for our human rights what we are looking for the needs of SSP services. The formal presentation from Editor Dan among deaf-blind key roles will be released AFTER the rally…Be on the look out! SSP WANTED AADB Board: As you may recall that Editor Dan was one of fourteen (14) candidates running for American Association Deaf-Blind (AADB) Board position, he missed cut and had only few votes shy of making into the board seat according to Art Roehrig, AADB President. He has learned that someone from out of state shockingly was acknowledged by AADB for the outcome of results and decided to write up a formal letter to AADB-Link concerning on Louisiana Deaf-Blind citizens as the largest incident of deaf-blind people in the United States, even in the world WITHOUT having a board member from Louisiana. Unfortunately Editor Dan was asked by some of AADB members to encourage running for President in 2009, but he has not made up his decision yet unless he is heavily demanded by them from nationwide before he could make press conference to announce later. ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬ UPCOMING EVENTS ALEXANDRIA (ZIP-713/714) • AAD General Meeting: Saturday, June 16th – Alexandria Association of the Deaf [AAD], 6647 First Street @ 3:00 p.m. Contact Rose Brossett, President for more details at
