Date(s) to Remember: • Memorial Day: Monday, May 28th This issue (May) of the DEAF BAYOU e-news dedicates to Christine ‘Coco’ Roschaert of Ottawa, Canada who was at the Louisiana Acadiana Deaf-Blind Citizens Annual Picnic Saturday to give her presentation telling her experience about Gallaudet protest and hunger strike as well. She is one of few deaf-blind leaders and is strong influence to the deaf-blind community to break barriers. This coming October Coco will stay in Africa for two (2) years to develop deaf-blind program for its Africans. She will keep Deaf Bayou editor posted while she is in Africa, and you will be acknowledged by the Editor Dan afterward. Be on the look out in few months. AADB Board: As you may recall that Editor Dan is one of fourteen (14) candidates running for American Association Deaf-Blind (AADB) Board position, the ballots are NOW closed today. Winners will be announced in early June. New CEO Named: Editor Dan is now promoted and named as CEO of the DeafBayou.com that is now running & owned by Editor Dan Arabie & his family.
