Louisiana Strawberry Festival

One of Deaf Louisiana’s favorite festivals to gather is Louisiana Strawberry Festival at Ponchatoula, Louisiana near Hammond on April 13th – 15th.

Interesting to know: Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU) in Hammond named its football stadium – Strawberry Field

Louisiana School for the Deaf (LSD)

Track & Field:

LSD will be hosting Class C Region 3 Boys / Girls Track & Field at its track field on Tuesday, April 24th. Top 4 finishes will advance into the LHSAA Class C State Champions Track Meet where will be held at LSU Bernie Moore on Thursday, May 3rd.

Two-time defending State Champions LSD boys will be aiming for 3PEAT while LSD Girls have not yet won a state title and had been runner-up five (5) times in last six years; hoping they finally win ONE this year to break their JINX.

Encourage you all to MARK the calendar – Thursday, May 3rd to PACK the CROWD at LSU Bernie Moore to show your support and witness the possibly state champions for both LSD Boys & Girls that are favorites to win this year.  Don’t miss out!
