Vol. 2   Issue 3                                                                                          February, 2007

                                                                                                          Dan Arabie, Editor

~ Celebrating HEARTS of our first-ever Grandson! ~

From the desk of the Editor:

February: Change brings freshness.

Wishing you, your family & friends a hearty Valentine and enjoyable the fever of the Mardi gras!

Dates to Remember:

Valentine Day: February 14th

Mardi gras: Fat Tuesday, February 20th

As the traditional of the HEARTS on the month of February continues, you could share your HEART with somebody you love...

This issue (February) of the DEAF BAYOU e-news dedicates to the DEAF BAYOU Editor’s first-ever grandson, Landon James to welcome aboard for the new arrival of the world on Earth where he arrived on Monday, January 22nd at 5:26 p.m.  Landon James weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and is 19.5 inches long.  He’s a proud grandson of Dan Arabie (LSD ’80) & Cathy (Ezell) Royer (LSD ’79).

In addition, the MASS of emails from the DEAF BAYOU readers across the nation were heavily sent to Editor Dan to congratulate being Grandpa…Those of you are meant so much to me I always cared for all of you.  That’s how your HEART is speaking for ‘LOVE’ I always respect. (Sigh! Excuse me, my throat clear!  My heartbeats pause & resume…)

What a SURPRISE!  Suddenly Miracle Worker, Helen Keller great niece, Keller Johnson found DEAF BAYOU Editor via email last Tuesday asking him to stay in touch and will be sending him a book about Helen Keller and autograph as well. Like him, she just got a new baby daughter named Keller Cooper last month, and it is so great to continue that name of Keller in the generation.  On behalf of LADBC, the Editor considers arranging to have her as guest speaker someday; maybe in few years...we may have 2-day exhibits / banquet along with her in honoring 130th anniversary of Helen Keller birthday.  Be on the look out for the future press-released announcement...

Super Bowl Sunday   Are you ready for Super Bowl Sunday?  Yes, you could have fun somewhere you wish to enjoy and stay warm inside.  The Deaf Bayou Editor thinks most of you may root for Indianapolis Colts because of Peyton Manning, native of New Orleans, Louisiana who bleeds NEW ORLEANS & MARDI GRAS!  Go Colts!  TIMEOUT!  Watch out New Orleans Saints next year!  Go SAINTS!
