Hi! My name is Tamra Cutrer. I am new advanced artist. It will be 1 years old anniversary on Feb. 7, 2007. I still continually art - Charcoal, Pencil, Soft/Firm Chaulk Pastel, Oil Pastel, Watercolor, Acrylic, Egg Tempera, (soon Mixed Media, Oil) .I am deaf and Usher Syndrome. How did I discovered my “hidden gift” from God – Art?

Let me tell you my life - I had three confirmation from the Lord revealed my heart and discovered Art.

1. When I was about 6 or 7 years old, my mother worked for Avon to sell products for my Aunt and Uncle that time they planned on vacation for Alaska few months asking my mother for taking my Aunt’s place selling avon products and can profit some money and drove around the town of Livingston where I still live. We both met very sweet elderly hearing oil artist lady at her home, she first saw me smiling and told my mother I will grow up as an artist. My mother was puzzled looking down to me smiled and fingerspelled me “You grow up painter.” I smiled and did not understand. My mother bought a small “painting oil” kit with small canvas & took me to lady taught me and noticed me I was not ready. My mother asked her why me not ready? A sweet elderly lady smiled and said Tamra is not ready and give her time. God will show her I believe. That was it.

2. Many, many years later in the 2005 summertime, the Lord spoke my mind Art Art Art. My heart flamed and looked at internet & saw things about art.I did not move on and rather waited to make sure the Lord reveal me more.3. In October 2005, Eve Chouest took me to the Women’s Conference Meeting for Leadership at our Church, the Lord spoke to Our Pastor Larry Stockstill’s wife Pastoral Melaine Stockstill’s heart about “the Canvas Heart” with many scriptures at the auditorium. That time, Our interpretor, Susie Hearn interpreted me and Eve only two deaf women while Our Pastoral Melaine taught us all women about “the Canvas Heart” that was how it hit my heart flamed and knew it was me. After meeting, I told Eve I made a decision to move on for Lord and my art belongs to Him. Eve said Yes yes go for it! I want to say God bless Melaine Stockstill’s heart shared it with me and applied to the Word of God. What a powerful rheme from God’s message!

I prayed for God’s wisdom where can I go to Art School and decided to move on with my “first step efforting to contact all artist and looked for the Art School (I do not want to go University or College or Community to have a degree). I searched all until in late December 2005, I cleaned my chest & found old brochure about five years ago (2000) and saw a man met & showed to Pope about his beautiful Art. The Lord spoke my heart yes it was Him and make an appointment call and find out. I checked & saw his name, Larry Casso.

He is very recognized artist for 40 years teaching beginner and advanced artist students. I used VP to call him thur VRS said it disconnected. In January 2006, I tried to call still disconnected many times – very hard to reach him. Still no luck! I prayed to Lord what can I do?

I gave to try another one more to check on website & typed on Google what name of school Larry Casso teachs at where????….finally it popped up and showed me wow not fancy website – very “humble webpage” that was why hard to find him and saw his phone number. I called him thru VP one more – good news: it rang – He answered on it PAH – it was Larry Casso . I felt so peace after we talked and he understood my handicap. He encouraged me Come and visit us please I made an appointment with him next two days. Eve brought me and met many sweet artist people at class they looked me and waved me.

It melt my heart already. Larry showed me what he do to them: teach many charcoal, pencil, watercolor, oil, acrylic, many things…I felt his warmth and patience with me. I told Larry yes I made a decision to take his class and it was Feb. 7th, 2006 was my “first class at Art School”. It was B.R. Fine Art Academy.

I can’t wait to go school like an excited kid! That was my “first basic homework with assignment” started with drawing. Larry Casso tested me and discovered I have “hidden talent” – ART from God! He gave me 18 x 24 “Charcoal – the Lord’s Supper (Wine & Bread)” it was my FIRST ART! I passed it only two days! So beautiful Lord’s Supper Art Frame on myliving room now I cherish into my heart because it was my first art!

Larry Casso and I tease each other from now since he first mentioned to me “I was very dangerous student because I am better than Tarzan artist.” I laughed so hard and asked him “Where is Jane?” He laughed so hard and Wow I was very smart because Tarzan always look for Jane at movie. So funny! Still saying it from now! Ha! Larry has lot of students to teach and workshop involvement. He sent Kitty McGarr, my assistant teacher, who is my helper and follow Larry’s master art tips. We can write pads – more gesture language easy to understand each other – no need to interpretor but I just found out there are lot of workshops this year in 2007. I need interpretor for the workshop only and please pray for me. Thanks!

I want to say I have two blessed mentors/teachers, Larry and Kitty have a very wonderful patience and have very good heart. I thank them for having wonderful teaching me discovered art from God. God bless their heart. I want to say addition very special message to my beloved parents and Eve my best friend very encouragement with support. I thank God my Father look at my parents and Eve always are there when I need them. I love my parents, Eve and pets. God bless their heart. Beloved one, I want to say something to you: Let’s focus about your life. Think about your life and I have two questions for you: Why do you live on earth and what for? Look at me, Tamra, I realized & discovered two questions in my life: Why and What for? I live on earth - That is God’s Purpose and Plan for me discovered my art “my hidden gift” for 43 years.” I now am 44 years old. I now am new advanced artist. I encourage you seek your heart and discover your “hidden” gift what God gives you: Talent and Ability and use it for Him. Listen your heart. Do not wait too long. Do not let the handicap stop you. I encourage YOU CAN DO IT for God.
