A Missing Two-Year-Old

What a beautiful day it was at Cedarpoint
Mike and I took our two girls on kiddie rides
They ran here and there, somewhat disjointed
They climbed up fish nets and slid down slides.

Before they could tunnel through a gym set
The girls were required to remove their shoes
They disappeared through the hole in the net
We ran to the front to meet our girls on cue.

Lani our four-year-old was the first to come out
And then we waited for 2-year-old Jamie to show
Unknown to us, Jamie left the gym set with a pout
She was nowhere to be found and that was a blow.

Frantic with worry, we asked a helper at the gym
If she'd seen a wee blue-eyed, blonde-haired girl
Our greatest fear was a child-snatcher on a whim
We thought the worst and our minds did whirl.

We ran helter-skelter in our search for Jamie
With thousands of people jamming everywhere
Our desperate plea brought us down to our knees
We beseeched God to keep her in His loving care.

Mike sobbed in anguish as I quietly pondered
I asked workers in the park to be on the alert
Jamie was soon found after having wandered
We all hugged her, grateful she wasn't hurt.
