Poem

At Niagara Falls

A part of life took wings for me in Niagara Falls
After much strife my heart did sing and as I recall
Something unexpected and good entered my space
When that gentle loving kindness I saw in your face.

This lady stood all aglow, with a light not all could see
A mind flash of a promise fulfilling, was she there for me
A part of me was unhappy the day when we had to part
Yet glad I was to see the way she grabbed my heart.

I would walk that extra mile for I knew that I had to go
Though exactly where the spirit would lead, I didn't know
If friends saw my change, I would explain why it had to be
For the same light that few could see, also was part of me.
