ILLY: The United States DeafBlind Declaration of Independence |
|
Happy 4th of July to all the readers!
The United States DeafBlind Declaration of Independence
Mr. ILLY was seated in the balcony area of the Congressional House of Representatives listening to the re-enactment of the Declaration of Independence through the hands of sign language interpreters. The year was 1776. As he listened to everything going on below, his mind did a fast forward to the year 2010 and he began preparing for the year 2012 and beyond. Below is The DeafBlind Declaration of Independence.
In Congress, July 4, 2010
There comes a time when all mankind should be treated equal and shown the utmost respect for one another. There are rights and privileges that should be honored as well as priorities that should be placed at the top of all mankind's storied list of priorities.
With the above statement in mind, people with both a hearing and vision loss should be placed high up on the hierarchy as it pertains to the United States Congress.
With this in mind, we the Representatives of the DeafBlind hereby list priorities that we feel should be followed and implemented to make Life, Liberty, and our pursuit of Happiness a reality!
Our Priorities Are:
We need Support Service Providers (SSPs).
We need Employment.
We need Technology that works for us.
We need skilled Sign Language Interpreters.
Now, these four main priorities are our top priorities so we hope they get the desired attention they need. We need them now!
The undersigned,
Mr. ILLY
