Deafblind Rhythms

Unseen hands move
Fingers slightly tapping
Along silenced walls
Like a tactual map
To guide the way.

Lively hands dance
Communicating ideas
Thoughts and emotions
Signs and gestures
Made by hand.

Fingers glide lightly
Blank pages of a book
Raised dots imparting
Knowledge within
And joy divine.

Digits ride softly
On steel and velvet
Behind closed doors
The language of love
Is tactually explicit.

Slow feet shuffle
Plowing hesitatingly
Seeking safe pathways
With the mind's light
Through the dark.
