My Round-About Man

He calls the back door the front door
And the front door the back door
When he says north, he's going south
When he says south, he's going north.

Oh yeah, he's my round-about man
He ain't go no directional sense
As long as he never leaves his island
He'll keep going 'round and 'round.

When he turns left, there's an ocean
When he turns right, the sea's there
If he swims out, the tide brings him in
And dumps him off on his doorstep.

Oh yeah, he's my round-about man
No compass or gyroscope'll fix him
As long as he never leaves his island
He'll keep going 'round and 'round.

It's hard to tell if he's coming or going
Climbing up a mountain or gliding down
Going into a tunnel and out the other side
But he always finds his way home again.

Oh yeah, he's my round-about man
He ain't got no lighthouse or foghorn
As long as he never leaves his island
He'll keep going 'round and 'round.

Oh yeah, he's my round-about man!
