Love Always Finds a Way
His initial glance towards that girl
Caused his joyful heart to whirl
He had found it difficult to hide
Rhythmic pulsating deep inside
True, there was no open door
As they both were hurt before
But in the window of his mind
He saw a lady lovely and kind.
When he entered her presence
He felt both strange and good
But she was careful to avoid him
Just like he thought she would
However, she didn't understand
He would follow her anywhere
As he was working on a plan
Which she and he could share.
She waited at the transit stop
But the bus was running late
From a distance, he yelled, "Hey,
The late bus is just part of fate"
That was when her bus came
And then as she stepped on
She replied, "So much for fate"
And finished with, "So long."
He followed behind that bus
And then waited 'til she got off
"Now there is just the two of us"
He said in a voice that was soft
"But not for long," was her reply
Then after she paused, "Nice try"
"If you are hoping to have a date
You're many boyfriends too late."
The lady didn't expect to hear
The words that he then spoke
Up until this point he did appear
To this woman as kind of a joke
But a slight pause in her stride
Was noticed as if deep inside
She was touched and her smile
Was hidden only a short while.
His words rang out loud and true
"I expected not a date with you
My hope was that you would say
Where you plan to spend your day
For if you spend time at the library
You'll find me there in a nearby chair
If you appear at the movie theatre
Look a few rows back, I'll be there."
"Because there is no secret with me
Where you happen to go I'd like to be
For when you're near, not far away
Sunshine warms my heart at play
Though outside may fall the rain
Washed away is my emotional pain
And no matter how much I sacrifice
It's worth it all to have you in my life."
Her words rang out like sweet poetry
But they spoke a truth so plain to see
"In the next blue moon I'll be where
The fading orb makes a golden road
On the sparkling sea like many stairs
Seeking great wonders as out it goes
Dancing to lands only fantasy dares
On crystal seas as it bounces and glows."
Before the evening sun sinks low
Before the blue moon starts to glow
I'll be at Gabriel's Point near the shore
Until the golden stairs are no more
A majestic way for all to navigate
While bathing in love, forgetting hate
If only for a short while you will find
If you take time to care, I'll be there."
So in poetic words to him she spoke
No longer considering him as a joke
In two days a blue moon would be
And it was her that he longed to see
He thought about that meeting much
And he could hardly wait to touch
A soft hand of that special lady fair
Whom he knew would show up there.
