ILLY: The Big Yellow Bird E-mail

The Big Yellow Bird

The morning silence over Sioux Falls, South Dakota is broken by a strong flapping of wings sound as a big yellow bird takes off from its perch at the United States Post Office with a large manila envelope in its beak.  The bird's destination, Lafayette, Louisiana.

The big yellow bird sores high above the ground maintaining his wing spread and speed.  He is determined to land in Lafayette in less than three days so he can deliver the important papers in the envelope to Mr. Dan Surjun.

As the big yellow bird got closer and closer to Lafayette, he glances down while over Baton Rouge and sees .... to his horror, a large herd of yellow and purple tigers!!

"Oh dear," thought the big yellow bird, "what should I do?"  "Are those tigers waiting for me down below?"

Just then the big yellow bird saw something else ... a man with glasses all decked out in LSU tiger garb.  The big yellow bird decided to land on the man's head and drop the manila envelope in his hands!  That way he would avoid becoming the dinner meal for the tigers.

As he swooped down and landed on the man's head, the man reached up and grabbed him making the big yellow bird drop the manila envelope .  The man then carried the big yellow bird into his home, tied a message around the bird's neck and sent it back to South Dakota.

The poor big yellow bird was very tired but he managed to fly all the back to South Dakota where he left the message at the home of Hulk Green.

When Mr. Green opened the message and read it, he started laughing so hard as the message said, "Have a very happy, hoppy 40th bird born day!!"
