The Wonderful World of Coke
On June 27th there was a reunion of sorts as Mr. Frenchy Fozo came to Atlanta to visit with Mr. Peachy Pozo, two of the deaf-blind world famous OZOs group met once again!
In April 2008 Peachy Pozo had flown out to the Cajun Deaf-Blind Picnic in Laffville USA! Mr. Pozo had been invited there so he decided to return the favor and invite Mr. Fozo to come speak at the Georgia Helen Keller Deaf-Blind Awareness event on Saturday, June 28.
Mr. Fozo came and we went to see the sights around Atlanta on the Friday before the event. One place Mr. Fozo wanted to see was the Coke Museum. We went there and Mr. Fozo did some negotiating so that we two deaf-blind men could enter with two SSPs getting in free to guide and interpret for us. But to get us two deaf-blind men in, it would cost each of us 15 beautiful greenbacks! Not being a Coca Cola drinker, Mr. Pozo was reluctant to fork over $15 just to get into the building because he knew he would not be able to see or hear anything going on inside. Mr. Fozo wanted to get inside to 'see' what it was all about. So Mr. Pozo gave in and went inside.
Now the first stop was to learn a bit of Coke history. There were TV-like screens all along one wall that had captions telling about the history. The two Deaf SSPs interpreted the captions for Mr. Fozo and Mr. Pozo.
Near the end of this presentation Mr. Fozo being so tired as he was decided to sit on the floor. When Mr. Pozo saw what was transpiring he immediately bent down to tap Mr. Fozo and ask "Did you want to pay $15 to get in here so you could sit on the floor?" Mr. Fozo instantly got to his feet and the two men went on a grand tour of the museum, including Mr. Fozo getting his picture taken with Mr. Giant Polar Bear. Of course Mr. Fozo had to do his Cajun hugs thing with the un-approving Mr. Polar Bear!
The overall museum trip was a good one and Mr. Fozo was a happy camper!
