LSD Star: Deaf All-Star Chosen

Baton Rouge, LA (DBE) – Among nation’s best 20 girls, Louisiana School for the Deaf (LSD) basketball senior, Joy Fraychineaud, native of New Orleans have been selected to play 2008 East - West Deaf High School All-Star Game where will be played in Orlando, Florida this upcoming April 10th – 12th during the 64th Men’s & 18th Women’s United States of America Deaf Basketball Tournament (USADB) < www.usadb.us > sponsored by corporate sponsor,  Hawk Relay < www.hawkrelay.com >.   Being roster, Joy represents to play for East team.  Here are rosters of the East - West teams as follows:

          By closing LSD career, Joy’s leadership role was greatly valuable to her team, in which she received many honors including all-district and Mason-Dixon honors throughout four-year career.  Her previous best career was 32 points and 14 assists that occurred in her last season (senior year).  Upon graduation, she is recruited and will be headed to Gallaudet University to play for Lady Bison where her college career will begin.  As soon-to-be Bison, she is recommended by Gallaudet Head Coach to go to Point Guard College in the summer to take two courses, ‘Essentials and Think the Game’ that will improve her skills, speed, and etc.

 

          In addition, Joy was named 61st LSD Homecoming Queen earlier.  History of Homecoming Queen since 1937 can be foud at the History of LSD of the DEAF BAYOU webpage.

 

Joy will be scheduled to graduate on Friday, May 16th and is a proud daughter of George, Jr. (LSD ’77) and Mary Fraychineaud.

 

Editor’s Note:  DEAF BAYOU Editor expresses to wish Joy the best of luck for her successful futures.  DEAF BAYOU Office grants Editor Dan to take scheduled vacation to Florida watching Joy and her team in support playing and may expect to meet her for brief post game interview.  Hope to see you all there if you care to come!
